Compare two job offers with modelled net pay, pension, student-loan deductions and stated package assumptions.
Comparing two job offers involves more than the headline number — tax bands, National Insurance, pension contributions and student loans can affect modelled take-home pay.
Enter both gross salaries and adjust the shared pension and student-loan assumptions. The results show modelled net pay and offer-value differences; bonus, benefits, leave and pension valuations remain illustrative and do not replace payroll or an offer document.
The first-year estimate taxes base pay, annual bonus and one-off sign-on bonus together under 2026/27 rules. It uses annualised employee Category A NI; the pension percentage applies to base salary plus annual bonus, but not sign-on. Scotland changes Income Tax only when selected; Scotland is based on taxpayer residence. You can add both one undergraduate loan plan and postgraduate repayments.
Employer pension and private medical values are treated as your entered package values, not guaranteed cash or actuarial valuations. Private medical value also increases modelled taxable pay. Commute cost is subtracted, while leave is shown only as days. The five-year chart is a recurring annual scenario at 3% growth and excludes one-off sign-on bonuses; it is not a forecast. The model omits tax codes, multiple jobs, payroll-period rounding, actual pension-scheme rules, tax on all benefit types and personal time value. Your editable scenario is included in the page URL for sharing; anyone with that link can see the encoded input values. Reviewed and updated 30 September 2026.
