Estimate 2026/27 UK gross statutory leave pay from annual salary and editable eligibility assumptions.
Calculate Statutory Maternity Pay, Paternity Pay, Shared Parental Leave, and Maternity Allowance.
For the 2026/27 payment period, eligible employees may receive SMP or Statutory Adoption Pay for up to 39 weeks: 90% of average weekly earnings for the first 6 weeks, then £194.32 per week or 90% if lower for 33 weeks. Statutory Paternity Pay, Shared Parental Pay and Parental Bereavement Pay use the same lower-of weekly rate, subject to each scheme's duration and eligibility rules.
The estimate uses annual salary ÷ 52 as a rough average-weekly-earnings proxy. Actual payroll uses qualifying-period earnings and eligibility dates. Maternity Allowance has a separate 26-of-66-week work test and earnings or National Insurance conditions; this tool does not calculate self-employed Class 2 NI-based rates.
Amounts are gross estimates, before any applicable Income Tax, National Insurance, pension deductions or employer top-ups. These statutory rates apply UK-wide; this page does not calculate regional Income Tax or local rules for other benefits. Check the linked GOV.UK guidance and your employer before relying on an entitlement estimate. Reviewed 30 September 2026.
Illustrative starting scenario: Sample only while unchanged: £35,000 salary, SMP selected and the simplified SMP eligibility assumptions marked as met. Replace these values with your own records before relying on the estimate.

The selected simplified eligibility assumptions are marked as met. The model estimates £10,047.18 gross statutory pay over 39 paid weeks.
The gross difference is £16,202.82 (usual gross salary for the same weeks minus modeled statutory pay). It can be negative when modeled pay exceeds the salary proxy.
Annual salary ÷ 52 is only a rough average-weekly-earnings proxy. HMRC uses a qualifying pay period; variable earnings and bonuses are not modeled. This is a gross estimate: it does not calculate PAYE, National Insurance, pension deductions or employer top-ups. Statutory rates are UK-wide; no England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland income-tax calculation is included. ShPP assumes the selected weeks remain available from the parents’ shared pay entitlement; it does not verify either parent’s eligibility or notice.
Total over the selected 39 paid weeks. Both values use annual salary ÷ 52 as the normal-pay proxy.
| Period | Statutory pay | Usual gross salary proxy |
|---|---|---|
| First 6 weeks at the initial rate | £3,634.62 | £4,038.46 |
| Remaining 33 paid weeks | £6,412.56 | £22,211.54 |
| Total over 39 weeks | £10,047.18 | £26,250.00 |
52 ÷ 12 equal weeks per month, not calendar pay dates. SMP and Adoption Pay include the first six-week 90% phase.
