Estimate take-home bonus after Income Tax, NI, Student Loan, and pension sacrifice.
Clean-visit sample: £50,000 annual salary and £10,000 cash bonus, with no extra bonus sacrifice. Replace the inputs with your figures; valid shared-link values take priority.
This is an annual estimate. A bonus payslip can use pay-period and year-to-date rules, especially for student loans.
Add your salary and bonus to see the estimated annual take-home effect.
A cash bonus is earnings, not a separate flat-rate tax. This calculator compares its annual effect on Income Tax, employee National Insurance and one selected student-loan plan, then models an employer-arranged pension-sacrifice scenario.
The estimate uses the current UK tax year and your region, regular pension rate/type, selected loan plan and bonus-sacrifice percentage. It does not reproduce bonus-payslip deductions or year-to-date payroll.
rUK Income Tax bands apply in England, Wales and Northern Ireland; Scotland has separate employment-income bands. NI uses standard employee rates. Employer matching, employer NI savings passed to a pension, multiple-job/deferment cases, tax codes, prior pay, non-cash awards and clawbacks are not modelled.
Bonus sacrifice depends on a valid employer arrangement and timing before the bonus becomes payable. Check scheme rules, National Minimum Wage constraints and pension annual allowance before acting.
These primary GOV.UK and HMRC sources support the rules and assumptions described above. Check payroll-period deductions and final tax or loan records with HMRC, SLC and your employer.
