Uses your monthly contributions, price-growth rate and distribution yield; distributions are reinvested. It excludes GIA tax, wrapper rules and provider charges. The full UK comparison replaces this estimate when the calculation service responds.
Total planned contributions over 10 years
£70,000
Initial investment plus monthly contributions, before growth, distributions or tax. This is an input total, not a projected account value.
The gross value above is provisional; the wrapper projection will replace it when the UK calculation service returns values matching these inputs.
A GIA is modelled as taxable; an eligible ISA is modelled as sheltered; SIPP values show accumulation before any withdrawal tax. The selected tax band is an assumption, not a calculation of your total income-tax position or Scottish bands. Enter annual amounts for other dividends, interest and gains; other gains reduce the modelled CGT exemption, and your complete tax position is not recalculated. This simplified 2026/27 scenario is not a tax return: fund reporting status is not checked, and wrapper eligibility, contribution limits, charges, losses and access are not modelled.
Compare an entered investment plan across a taxable General Investment Account (GIA), an ISA and a SIPP using the same contribution, growth and distribution assumptions.
The model projects annual wrapper balances from the upfront amount, contributions added at the start of each month, price-growth assumption and distribution yield. For a GIA it estimates distribution tax during the holding period and capital gains tax only on the modelled final sale. If reinvested distributions leave no cash to pay that tax, the model deducts it from the investment balance but does not separately calculate CGT from any units sold to fund the payment. ISA and SIPP accumulation are shown before account-specific charges, and SIPP value is before withdrawal tax.
Tax bands, fund distribution category and other annual income/gains are user-entered assumptions. The model does not identify reporting-fund status, calculate your complete income-tax or CGT position, test wrapper eligibility or contribution limits, or model access, losses and provider charges. Check the fund documents and current HMRC guidance before using the illustration for a decision.
These official GOV.UK and HMRC sources support the current dividend, CGT, ISA and offshore-fund explanations. The calculator is a simplified scenario model and does not identify a specific ETF’s reporting status.
