An additional tax-free allowance for registered blind or severely sight-impaired individuals.
Blind Person's Allowance is an extra amount you can earn before paying Income Tax, available if you are registered as blind or severely sight-impaired. For 2026/27, the allowance is £3,250 on top of the standard Personal Allowance. If you are a married couple or civil partnership and both qualify, each person gets their own allowance. If you cannot use all of your allowance, you may be able to transfer the unused amount to your spouse or civil partner under the applicable rules.
